The Ascension Bay Mantis is a great E.P. shrimp pattern that has proven itself as a top-producing Permit fly not only in its namesake bay in Mexico, but all over the Caribbean and everywhere that you find permit. This fly will also work on big bonefish, like those you will find in the Bahamas, Hawaii, Christmas Island, or the Seychelles.

This version has lead eyes - which is great for deeper waters when you need your fly to drop onto the sand or turtle grass quickly. These are also available with lighter bead chain eyes. Best to have a few of each, as you never know what the tides will bring.
