The NOVA 2 series is big upgrade from the original Nova but still at a budget perfect for the budget conscious angler. Utilising newer graphite materials the Nova 2 is lighter and crisper than its predecessor but still features a smooth action that allows the rod to bend deep into the butt section with a fast recovering tip.
These rods are perfect for chasing summer and winter steelhead and can handle about any line configuration you choose to fish. Whether you are just getting into spey casting or you want a reliable back up the Nova 2 should be your first choice.
A FEW RECOMMENDATIONS:
TROUT SPEY RODS
3110-4: A beautiful, light trout Spey. Perfect for anywhere that trout swim and eat streamers.
Line Recommendations:
4113-4: A light trout Spey with a little bit more backbone. If you plan on throwing weighted flies and sink tips for trout this, or the 5 weight, would be your best bet.
Line Recommendations:
5120-4: A trout Spey with power that could cross over to a very light steelhead rod when fishing in systems with small steelhead (i.e. Rogue half-pounders).
Line Recommendations:
STEELHEAD SPEY RODS
6126-4: The perfect floating line summer rod from northern California to Washington. Great for skaters, wet flies and light tips.
Line Recommendations:
7130-4: This is the do it all rod in the Nova series. A year round gun that can handle heavy tips and big flies with ease and yet it is still light enough to enjoy floating line fishing.
