DETAILS

Skwala is the name for the stonefly that hatches out in the winter/spring on the Deschutes and other rivers. Unlike the orange belly of its cousin the salmonfly, or gold belly like the golden stone, this fly is olive to match the olive/grey/brown hues of the skwala stone. If you love dry dropper fishing, this is a good option for the dry fly that can support a fairly heavy trailing nymph.
