Dalai Lama

The Dalai Lama is one of the most popular streamer patterns on the planet. It will slay large trout and everything from steelhead to bass to pike to Mahseer in the Himalayas will eagerly pin this baby to their lips. The heavy cone head on the front of the fly balances out the long rabbit strip body (or are those strips of llama hair?) and gives it a really nice swimming action in the water. These flies are mighty legit - but you better bring your "A" game to cast this beast of a fly! When you do cast it across the river, after much double hauling and backcasting, you will feel like shouting, "Hey, Lama, hey, how 'bout a little something, you know, for the effort?"

The Dalai Lama weighs 3.6 grams, measures 4" long, and sports a size 2 hook.
