This clever pattern perfectly imitates a crab and the best thing about it is the way the lead eyes are encased in the netting material. This design keeps the fly from snagging up on weeds and coral as much as a fly with exposed dumbbell eyes would tend to do.
It is quite complex and time-consuming to tie, so this is a small price to pay for one of the best permit and triggerfish flies on the flats.
