There is a shortage of bucktail available from suppliers - hence we are imposing a limit of
1 BUCKTAIL OF EACH COLOR PER CUSTOMER
until we are able to get the supply back. If you order more than one, your order will be altered to one of each color.
Bucktail is just what it sounds like, the tail of a buck (male deer). What it smells like, however, is not something that can be described in words. It is rank. Let's just say that it is of critical importance that you keep your bucktails under lock and key if you have a nosy dog in the house.Â
Bucktails are used for many different flies in both freshwater and saltwater. Clouser minnows and other streamers use the long white fibers for a body/belly and the other colors over the top as the minnow back. Steelhead hairwings are often tied with white bucktail wings and saltwater bonefish flies often use bucktail in the wings.
