The Sage R8 Spey rods are light and crisp and a joy to cast. We just returned from an exotic trip to Northern India chasing Golden Mahseer with the 8 weight versions of the R8 Spey. The R8 Spey rods were light as a feather but tough as nails when battling the tiger of the river.

No matter the size you choose, these four-piece Spey rods will be weapons worthy of many species of fish from steelhead to salmon to sea-run trout, to whatever other crazy species you seek.

6130-4 R8 SPEY:

When fishing classic wet flies and skaters, the 6130 is the ideal choice when paired with light scandi setups. Additionally, it’s plenty capable of fishing light sink-tips and moderately-weighted flies during midday sun. This is our most versatile lower-48 summer-run steelhead model - with plenty of power to cut through summer winds.
