NORTH OREGON COAST

OREGON'S FINEST WINTER STEELHEAD RIVERS

North Oregon Coast trips are based out of Netarts. The North Oregon coast is an easy day trip from Portland, but there are also some nice lodging options and restaurants for anglers who wish to stay for a few days. Winter days are short, so we will be making the most of the light that we have by getting to the river early and fishing until sunset. We float from spot to spot and exit the boat to wade and fish beautiful steelhead water. The water types will vary from easy wading gravel bars to ledge strewn deep cuts.

Deep old growth rainforests covered in moss and ferns line the banks of the rivers we fish. The steelhead green water flows cold and clears up within a day or two after a hard rainstorm. The flies we fish are large and colorful and we use sink tips of various densities to get those flies down deep where the steelhead hold. Using a Spey rod will make easy work of casting heavy sink tips and weighted flies. For clients who don’t have a Spey rod, we will have rods available to use. After spending years on these waters, our guides know the rivers intimately. Let us share with you the magic of steelhead fishing the North Oregon Coast.
