Along with his musical fly buddies, the Willie Nelson fly and the Miles Davis fly, Al Green is a twist on the good ol' egg sucking leech. We all know that chartreuse is kryptonite to steelhead and salmon, if the Green Butt Skunk is any indication....which we all know it is. The fluoro green in this case is the head instead of the butt. It's the black rabbit fur that soaks up water, helps the fly stay down deep, and wiggles like a wacked-out eel. Salmonids cannot resist this treat! Big streamer-eating trout are also vulnerable around this pattern.Â
