The bomber is a classic steelhead skater tied out of spun deer hair with calftail wing and tail and a hackle turned through the body. It floats like a cork, skates like a champ, and looks great while driving steelhead crazy. Atlantic salmon will jump out of the water to grab this fly on the way back down to the river.
Spinning deer hair as perfectly and tightly as the tyers of this fly have is not an easy task. They are a lot of fun once you master tying them!
