A thick coarse fur, similar to moose hair, makes fantastic heads on a variety of skater patterns and because it is hollow and extremely buoyant, it also works great on a variety of dry flies. It can be a little tricky to tie with because it tends to be brittle, so you must be careful with your thread choice and how you handle the thread. It is normal for all of the tips of antelope hair to be broken.
