Golden Pheasant Crest

We were lucky to stumble across a huge supply of these perfect, full, Golden Pheasant Crests. These are of the finest quality with lots of feathers in each crest. Each crest is slightly different, but all contain dozens and dozens of stunning yellow crest feathers with the characteristic curl. If you don’t like the exact shape of the curl of any particular feather, the solution is simple: pull out your kettle and steam the feather until it is hot and limp. Fresh out of the steam, drape that limp feather over a shot glass, a juice glass, or any cylindrical shape and let it dry into the form that works best for the particular fly you are tying. These crest feathers are found in dozens and dozens of steelhead and Atlantic salmon patterns - but will do wonders when they add the flair to your next trout fly.
