The fly line designation next to the reel size is there so that you know how much backing you can put on the reel with a line size. If it says WF4 + 100 yds backing, then you know that you will be able to use the reel on a 4 weight rod or on a 3 weight with a bit more backing. A fly line does NOT come with the purchase of this reel.Â
