Lamson Liquid Max Outfit - No Fly Line

As for the performance of the rod - it casts every bit as nice as rods that come in at the $600 price range. It is smooth, crisp, accurate, and powerful. The rod is paired with the Liquid Max Reel. The Liquid Max features Lamson's saltwater Cobalt Drag System: a fully U.S.-made, stop-anything drag system with proprietary Teflon alloy drag cone, In addition, this reel is fitted with carbon PEEK thrust washers, custom self-lubricating seals and a certified IPX8 waterproof rating. The drag is housed in a pressure cast and machined frame and spool, with features that include Ultra Large Arbor, integrated reel foot and pocket spar frame and spool design that maximizes strength-to-weight ratio. Top it off with a large, easy-grip drag knob you have a reel that will tame big game fish.

This outfit does not come with backing and fly line simply because we wanted to keep it highly customizable for your particular fishing needs. For example, you may want to chase Striped Bass in New England in cool water/air temperatures - there a line for that. Or, you may want to go to the tropics for bonefish/permit/tarpon in hot weather and saltwater - there is a special line for that.  Each temperature zone and water type requires a unique line for optimal performance.  If you are purchasing this rod to fish for monster trout, or bass, or pike, or steelhead/salmon, or tarpon, or trigger fish, or bonefish, or redfish.... there are specific lines that will dial the outfit for each species and water type.

This is a GREAT DEAL - The rod and reel together would normally be $558.00 to 595.00 and would only include a case to hold the rod. This package comes with a case that holds both the rod and reel - making it easy for travel.  The savings of $80 on this bundle can be applied to the purchase of a fly line. You choose the line, add it to your cart, and we will spool it with free backing (30 lb dacron) and the fly line you have chosen.
