Smaller flies sometimes require smaller bobbins, so Rite Bobbin developed the Shorty to provide the same level of precision tension, along with a smaller sized barrel. This is the perfect tool for those little blue wing olives, midges, small parachutes, or any other pattern where a full-sized bobbin starts to impede your ability to see and/or tie.
Some people - no matter the size of the fly - love the way this bobbin nestles into the palm of the hand and can be held there without interfering with scissors or bumping into a bunch of stuff. This is the bobbin that John Hazel chooses above all others.
