Randall Kaufmann invented this fly - but probably based it off of the Norm Woods Special. The Norm Woods still reigns supreme for fooling the picky Deschutes trout during the salmonfly hatch, but the Stimmy has a following and should be in your fly box if you are headed anywhere in the west to fish salmonflies, stoneflies, or hoppers.Â
