Kind of crumby weather....
Hi folks, the water is back up again, but the color is good and it is clear enough to fish. There are places where the river is so high that it is in the trees. There will be spots that you normally fish that will not be fishable or even possible to wade due to this high water. The good news, however, is that the river clarity is good. The White River is high but it is also clear - so visibility is not the issue. If you are boating, it may be challenging to find places to pull over to fish. When the river was at this flow a few weeks ago, we had some friends of the shop float from Pine Tree to Beavertail and they said they barely had a spot that they could stop.
This is going to be a brief fishing report - the weekend is going to be a bit tough. We have great weather forecast for next week starting on Monday. Temps are supposed to be in the 70s!
Have a great weekend!

This report is spot on. I was bank fishing last week Tue-Thu, and the river was at this same level, but clarity was ok and improving. Stayed above the White, but found plenty of spots, and had a really good day, especially on Wednesday. If you’ve fished this stretch a lot, it actually makes it kind of interesting, ‘cause it’s like a whole new river with brand new spots. Pretty fun fishing rock channels that are usually dry.
Thanks for the heads up Amy. Am hoping the cfs comes down below 6,000 before Monday/Tuesday cause I am getting the Jones to be on the river as soon as. There are a few spots I know of where access from the bank is not horrible. I am guessing that Euro nymphing is the percentage play, but will bring two rods and some BWOs for early afternoon.
Really appreciate your updates. Steve
