Saturday - Check out the White River!

The White River has been dropping nicely and it is now, barring any additional rain on Mt Hood, about a day or so away from getting back to normal. I was down on the river filming the confluence of the Deschutes and the White River with my drone. Here are some of the photos I took on this beautiful, windless, 60 degree day....

The White River has dropped from its peak at 2200 CFS on Wednesday to a current reading of 484 CFS at 1:30 PM on Saturday.

As you can see, the thickest mud is starting to pull back into a point, and the eddy is getting cleaner and cleaner.

This is where the water is mixing - dirty into clean. Due to the shadows on the water, it was hard to see how badly the river looked below the confluence, so I flew down to the spot just below the mixing area to see what the color looked like.

The river probably has 2 feet of visibility with the sediment from the White River mixed in. As the White River continues to drop in volume, the lower 50 miles of the river will clear up significantly.

Thank you for the updates Amy!
